It was nice to sleep in a little this morning -- did not have a meeting until 10:00 a.m.
And it was actually an interesting and productive meeting. Our state leaders, in all their wisdom -- NOT, decided that all schools, including small community colleges, have to entice a certain percentage of students to participate in study abroad programs. I certainly agree that international experience is a huge plus to any program and usually has an amazing effect on that student's life. Alas, two things need to happen: (1) student's mentality has to change -- and it will take years and years of persistent efforts; and (2) funding has to increase.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Teaching one student at a time... Making one yummy treat at a time... Struggling with life... Having Fun!!!
