Hey, Student, suffering from a toothache by any chance?

Did you know that the ancient Greeks believed telling lies caused a toothache? Well, if it's true, one of my student's jaw should be swollen by now. He was trying to tell me not one, not two, but three very transparent lies! One, computer just stopped working so he could not work for a whole week. Um, how about computer labs? Two, wife's uncle (is this a variation of the monkey's uncle?) had a stroke so they had to spend several days at his bedside. Three, he had a sudden allergy attack -- just hours before the deadline. Poor guy -- do you think I am THAT stupid? Hope his teeth are OK. :)
